One of my dream jobs has become available: Assistant Principal in charge of Student Life at a Catholic high school. Same salary as I was earning. Smaller school. Values that mirror mine. Another fresh start.
But what about:
The long hours?
The year-round position?
My daughter?
Evenings away from her. No more weekday park visits when the sun shines. No more weekend music classes.
True, I took a huge pay cut. I have to admit my curiosity was piqued. But I made a pivotal decision last year. I decided to devote some years to being the best mother I could be.
That is the dream job.
