I never met Luther Vandross but his music touched me. A few notes is all I need to hear to burst into a huge smile. If it’s danceable, I begin to move. If it’s one of his slow jams, I start to think and reflect. No matter the style, I usually sing along or mouth the words. Few artists make me feel like they are a part of my personality. Luther was that powerful.
I’m sorry I didn’t get to see him live at the Paramount. But at least I still have his voice.
